W/E Schools Toll Free Security Help Line

If you’re like me, you’re always busy with one thing or another. To the point that if something is not easy to remember, it probably won’t get done.

Take for instance, the Toll Free Willoughby-Eastlake Security Help Line. I can tell you right now that in the event I would need to utilize our school district’s security hot-line phone number, I  wouldn’t.

Not because I don’t want to,
but I don’t think I could ever remember it.
And, if I can’t memorize it, how can I expect my teenager to?
Enter acronyms:
They can be useful for numbers we should know,
but might not remember without a cheat sheet.
Before the acronym-

WHAT IS THE W/E SECURITY HELP LINE FOR?
  • In the event of a situation where a student feels that they are in danger, a friend is in danger, a person has weapons at school or is involved in illegal activity, this number is okay to call.
  • If a child feels very depressed, wanting to harm themselves, this is the number to call.
  • If you have called to report any of the above already and would like to follow up.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
WHEN YOU CALL YOU WILL HEAR A 10 SECOND MESSAGE REPEATING WHAT THE HOTLINE IS FOR.
YOU WILL BE OFFERED THESE 3 OPTIONS..
PRESS:
#1. to report wrong doing or illegal activity which puts students, teacher or your child in
      jeopardy (students can call themselves)
#2. to check on a previous call
#3. to get help in the event you (a student) are depressed or suicidal

NOW THE HELP LINE #:

Here is the W/E Security Help Line #
1-800-418-6423 Ext 359
Do you see what I mean?
The acronym I figured out for you might not seem….well…
let’s just say that I didn’t have too many options.
W/E SECURITY HELP LINE ACRONYM:

800-G1V-NICE     EXT. FLY
The ‘1’ after G could serve as an I to spell ‘give’.
The extension acronym offers thoughts like rushing away, fast, or free…all very good when thinking of danger.
Talk to your children about this Help Line: 800-G1V-NICE EXT. FLY
Explain to them it’s anonymous and it’s acronym is easy to remember so it will be easy to use.

It’s probably just fine to program it into your phone, but it’s still always best to memorize it. Why? Because technology can fail and have you ever been caught not knowing your own, or your spouses, cell number? It’s just one of those numbers you should know.

800-G1V-NICE     EXT. FLY
